Just got back from a 3 night comped stay at the Beau. Upon checking in, I found that, if you want a room with a Gulf view, you pay extra. If you want a king bed, its $20 per night. If you want 2 queen beds, its $40 per night. Needless to say, I got a 2 bed room without the gulf view. Also, they recently added Keurig coffeemakers to each room. BUT, THE MAIDS ARE TOLD TO PUT ONLY 2 COFFEE PODS IN EACH ROOM. That is about 6 ounces of coffee per guest, and my wife and I like about 18-24 ounces. If you call housekeeping for addtl. pods, they relate the limitation. But the maids on the floor are much more understanding. Management here wants you to still make the journey to the Roasted Bean coffee shop to get most of your coffee fix. Also, we always enjoyed the buffet, and tried to go about 2PM to get the lunch price. Well, I found that they instituted a ' holiday buffet' from 6/30 to 7/4. It cost $33 and was the only buffet available for these 5 days. Now the only holiday was 7/4, so who came up with the 5 day holiday buffet idea?? That genius probably got a suggestion award. Considering these changes, how long will it be before they charge to self park your car?? I am sure all of these revenue enhancers are being dictated by the MGM corporate office in Las Vegas. But, there is one good thing about Biloxi. There are about 10 other casinos to consider staying at if the Beau continues on this course. THEY DO NOT HAVE A MONOPOLY, AND WILL FEEL THE GAMBLERS WRATH. I do not oppose a reasonable charge for a service or product, but price gouging will backfire.
